The GCTS Large Scale Hollow Cylinder Testing Systems are capable of performing advanced triaxial tests on very large hollow cylindrical specimens. These systems are completely "turn-key" due to the advanced software and hardware used to conduct the tests. 

 

The GCTS Large Scale Hollow Cylinder Systems feature:

 

  • Specimen diameters of up to 300 mm (outside) and 150 mm (inside)
  • Axial load capacity of up to 300 kN
  • Apply up to 1000 N-m of torque
  • Perform dynamic tests at up to 25 Hz
  • Confining, pore, and internal pressure control of up to 2000 kPa
  • Maximum deflection of up to 40°
  • Optional unsaturated soils testing systems available

The GCTS Large Scale Hollow Cylinder Testing Systems are capable of performing advanced triaxial tests on large, hollow soil specimens. These systems are able to simulate most field stress and strain paths and can perform both static and dynamic tests. This allows for other tests to be performed with these systems, including liquefaction, plane strain, simple shear, dynamic shear strength, and shear modulus.
