Universal Soil Dynamics Testing System

Geotechnical earthquake engineering is crucial for infrastructure safety in seismic areas. The GCTS SRC-100 Universal Soil Dynamics Testing System is an automated platform that assesses the seismic response of soil and rock formations.

The SRC-100 performs resonant column tests, cyclic/dynamic triaxial tests, ultrasonic velocity measurements, and resilient modulus evaluations, providing a detailed analysis of soil behavior under seismic loads. The resonant column test identifies dynamic properties like shear modulus and damping ratio, while the dynamic triaxial test evaluates strength and stiffness under axial and cyclic loads.

This system combines resonant column and torsional shear functions, allowing for the evaluation of soil parameters across a broad range of moduli. It uses a torsional drive to vibrate the specimen at up to 500 Hz, with a non-contacting rotational transducer for accurate shear strain measurement. An optional accelerometer can measure large shear strains.

The SRC-100 accommodates isotropic or anisotropic conditions, with a “floating” frame for large vertical and shear deformations. Its advanced components ensure precise control, real-time data acquisition, and reliable results for critical design decisions.
