Rock Triaxial Cells

The GCTS Triaxial Cells for Rocks were designed to easily install and test rock specimens in triaxial conditions. Many different vessels can be supplied with a variety of pressure capacities (35 MPa up to 420 MPa) and for a variety of specimen sizes (up to 38 mm, 54 mm, 63.5 mm, or 100 mm).

All GCTS triaxial cells include electrical feed-through lines that allow for in-vessel instrumentation for precise measurements of deformation modulus and Poisson’s ratio. The standard specimen platens have O-ring grooves for sealing the specimen jacket and an upper spherical seat to minimize stress concentrations due to non-parallel specimen ends. Pore fluid lines and ports for both upper and lower platens are also standard for effective stress and permeability measurements.

Cell and pore fluid connectors are provided at the cell base for easy interface with GCTS’ hydraulic or electromechanical pressure intensifiers. GCTS also offers a wide variety of load frames with various axial load capacities to provide a complete triaxial testing solution.
