Electromechanical Soil Triaxial Test
The GCTS eSTX-20D Static-Cyclic Electromechanical Soil Triaxial Testing System is a servo-controlled, research-grade platform designed to perform advanced static and cyclic triaxial testing of soils. Combining a precision electromechanical load frame, high-performance soil triaxial cell, and GCTS electromechanical Pressure/Volume Controllers (ePVCs), the system provides automated control of axial loading, confining pressure, pore pressure, and drainage conditions for accurate evaluation of soil behavior.
The eSTX-20D performs conventional triaxial tests, including Unconsolidated Undrained (UU), Consolidated Undrained (CU), and Consolidated Drained (CD), as well as advanced procedures such as stress-path, strain-path, multi-stage, and K₀ consolidation testing. With cyclic loading frequencies up to 2 Hz, the system is also well suited for investigating soil response under repeated loading, including liquefaction potential, cyclic resistance, excess pore pressure generation, and post-cyclic behavior.
The servo-controlled electromechanical load frame provides 20 kN of axial load capacity with closed-loop control by load or displacement. High-resolution ePVC pressure controllers deliver precise regulation of confining and pore pressures while accurately measuring specimen volume changes during saturation, consolidation, and shear.
WIN-CATS Advanced Software automates specimen saturation, consolidation, static and cyclic loading, and data acquisition through customizable test procedures. User-defined waveforms, including imported earthquake records, enable realistic simulation of field loading conditions for advanced geotechnical research.
