Residual Ring Shear Test
The GCTS Residual Ring Shear Testing Systems can be used to determine the drained residual strength of unsaturated, continually sheared soils. These devices were designed to generate accurate results while being easy to use.

The GCTS Residual Ring Shear System is ideal for determining the drained residual strength of unsaturated soil. It is a fully automatic, electro-pneumatic, servo-controlled system that provides accurate results while remaining easy to use. This system includes our Harmonic DriveTM motor technology which allows for continuous rotation without backlash.
The Residual Ring System can also perform multi-stage tests, allowing a single specimen to be used to determine the residual strength under multiple normal loads. It can also be used to test saturated soil specimens.
